This week our school celebrated the ending of the Chinese New Year. We had lunch with chopsticks, a day of red, and a local performing group came to perform some amazing traditional dances. At the end of Friday, one of our students, Zachary Smith and his mother were able to come teach about the Lion Dance. They also did a fantastic demonstration of the dance. Here are some videos of the day and the children wishing a Happy New Year!

Thank you to all the parents that came in to volunteer for a fantastic party! Thank you Emily White for coordinating everything! The students had a fantastic time and left with plenty of goodies to share with the family. Here are some pictures of the day. Happy Chinese New Year! Yesterday, we were able to kick off the holiday with a fantastic party planned by many parents. Here are a few pictures of the event. I was so impressed with all the activities that were planned, and the children had an amazing time. Once again, I feel so grateful for all the support this year. I couldn't do this job without the help of all of you. Also this week, we had a student Chinese ambassador come visit us. She was one of the first students at Spring Lane that started in the Chinese program. She did a fantastic presentation, and was a great example of what the students will be able to accomplish these next six years in the program. |
